In January, the High Low tech research group will direct a workshop at the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (ENSAD) in Paris. High Low Tech’s newest masters students, Sam Jacoby and Jennifer Jacobs will lead the workshop, which focuses on an exploration of how computation and electronics can be integrated into a concrete design project, will lead the workshop. Over the course of the week-long workshop, a select group of ENSAD students will conceive, design, and build a project that re-interprets technology’s relationship to our material environment.  Using both traditional tools, as well as electronic components and unique, responsive materials, the projects will introduce an expanded material vocabulary, turning technology and computation into an integral part of the design process.
